Latrines to Oases Mongolia

Project goal

Well ventilated 15 pit latrines (eco latrines) that protect wells from being contaminated and together with better sanitation and hygiene lead to that poor communities have increased well-being with physical needs in relation to water, food and health

Main activities

In 2020 and 2021 LOM has conducted 15 times of water management, household hygiene and environment friendly management and climate change practical trainings (spent a day per training) for 206 staff, teachers, men, women, boys and girls of two Kindergartens and eight households. Conducted WASH, how to build and maintain Eco-latrine training for 206 people (12 in 2020 and 194 in 2021)

Outcomes

Project team and participant households built 15 Eco latrines (six in 2020 and nine in 2021) and those are protecting nine deep wells from bio-contamination. Vulnerable households and communities with 556 people (61 in 2020 and 495 in 2021) are benefiting by better sanitation facilities and increased their well-being with physical needs in relation to water and health. LOM achieved its’ development goal by end of 2021
