Project goal

The project aims to increase the supply of drinking water to households in Tuv and Bayankhongor aimags, and to increase their knowledge and skills on drinking water hygiene and sanitation.

Main activities

Drill and restore wells and conduct “Water sanitation and hygiene, how to secure from water contamination and environment friendly management” trainings

Outcomes

  1. Drilled well in Duurshakh Village in Bayankhongor Province

  2. Restored well in Ulziit soum  in Bayankhongor Province

  3. Restored well in Bayankhangai soum in Tuv Province

Drilled and restored three deep wells are providing clean drinking water to 694 households with 2415 individuals.

In October and November Drinking Water Mongolia (DWM) team, Bayankhongor and Tuv Provinces Health departments’ training  staff conducted three times of trainings about “Water sanitation and hygiene, how to secure from water contamination and environment friendly management” for the 92 participants (including local government staff), households and deep well operators.
